What Are the Major Arcana?

The Major Arcana are the 22 most powerful cards in the Tarot, and bear the numbers 0 through 21. The Fool begins the journey at 0, although sometimes it also placed at the end as number 22.

The remaining 56 cards in the deck form the Minor Arcana, which include the 16 Court CardsPages, Knights, Queens, and Kings.

Major Arcana cards tend to carry deeper, more transformative meanings when they appear. They reveal key archetypes, life turning points, and spiritual themes, unlocking the deeper layers of Tarot and its esoteric roots.
