Good and Bad Reading

Let the cards reveal both the good and bad of your current position. This reading can be in regard to your career or any long-term project. The Cards will be honest with you about your strengths and weaknesses, and help you see what you have lost and obtained already, so that you can best plan for your future.

As always, remember that the cards do not need to be interpreted literally, sometimes need to be interpreted creatively, and even loose connections they spark are significant because they came to mind.

Card 1 – STRENGTHS

This Card describes the strengths or skills you bring to your current position. The Cards are singling this strength out for a reason – it may be unrecognized or under-appreciated, or could be utilized in a way you have not thought or had the courage to try yet. This Card is affirming this strength and telling you to use it fearlessly when you can.

Card 2 – WEAKNESSES

This Card describes something that you’re not doing well, or that would be worth getting better at. It’s telling you that it would be helpful to mitigate this particular weakness, or find a way compensate for it with a strength (possibly the one from Card 1). This Card could describe the weakness itself, or else one of its causes or effects.

Card 3 – LOSSES

This Card is about things in the past that have not gone your way, or things you obtained and then lost. It may be pointing to a loss that you have yet to learn everything you can from, or reminding you of an important lesson that you already learned from it. The Cards are instructing you to keep this loss in mind as you evaluate the good and bad of your current position, either because it is necessary to get the full picture, or because it will help you maneuver to a more favorable position after this assessment reading.

Card 4 – REWARDS

This Card represents what you have already obtained in your career or project. It’s something you have earned using your strength from Card 1 and despite the weakness from Card 2. It may balance or counteract the loss from Card 3 in some way. Card 4 is the culmination of your career so far, or represents a fruitful direction for it to go from here. Let any patterns or motifs among the four Cards provide additional guidance or insight into your position.

Ask or Explore

Tarot is versatile. You can ask a specific question—like “How can I improve my career?”—or simply draw cards to explore broader themes, such as relationships, personal growth, or hidden possibilities in your life.

Notice the Details

Every card has a position and context. These give a useful starting point, but pay attention to what stands out most vividly. Even if a card’s meaning initially seems unrelated, it might be highlighting something important you’re overlooking.

Trust Your Intuition

The cards guide you toward deeper connections and new insights. Trust your first reactions and intuitive impressions. If something resonates, explore it further. Often, Tarot reveals exactly what you need to hear, even if it differs from your initial question.
