The World
The End and the Beginning
The World is Major Arcana number 21. It is not the end of the The Fool‘s journey, as that is Judgement, Major Arcana number 20; it is also not the beginning, as that is represented by The Fool card itself, number 0. The World is the time in between these terminal points, or is the connective tissue between them, ensuring that each end leads to a new beginning, over and over again without limit. It represents the entire Tarot deck in one card, but also the whole world, including all of the Tarot decks in it. However, it is less that this card literally represents the entire universe than that it represents the idea that you can’t divide any whole into the sum of its parts without losing something along the way.

The World Card Meaning
The World is about moving on from one level to the next, into a whole different world or plane of existence that you either never knew existed, or once thought impossible to achieve. When you realize that it was really the journey that mattered, or that is was actually all about the friends you made along the way, that is the World card appearing in your life.
Symbolism in the World
The World card symbolizes spheres, ripeness, and fruit. Its number, 21, is made of two and one, symbolizing how from the point of the World, two and one are united, which is the ultimate lesson learned by the Fool on their journey through the arcana. It is also associated with Saturn, the last of the classical planets, and which also relates to boundaries and transitions.
The World Reversed Meaning
The World reversed means getting stuck in a rut for a long time, having everything you need except for one tiny yet crucial piece, being totally unaware of the true significance of what is happening around you, or going around in circles.
